The thing that I hope to study when I get into college is Pre-med to become a Pediatrician. However, I’m not fully sure if I want to become a full time doctor because I’ve been told that they don’t have a lot of free time. But even if I don’t become a doctor, I still want to be involved with Pediatrics because I like working with kids. Since my sister has asthma and is constantly in and out of the hospital, it has made me become more interested in the medical field. I feel like if I’m able to be a Pediatrician, I’m able to give back to children who are less fortune, and I would have the ability to guide them back to health. Not only that, I really like the atmosphere that places like the Children’s Hospital has and how doctors interacts with their patients. The way the Pre-Collegiate program is helping me reach my goals is that during the summer program, I’m required to take a college course, English 1020. This is giving me a glimpse of what the college classes are going to be like. It has also been providing several health classes. This gives me chance to experience what it’s going to be when I enter health classes in college. The class that has had the greatest impact on me is Human Anatomy. It has caused me to become more interested in the medical field because of the various components and information there is to know about the human body. The classes challenge me a lot, so that’s another glimpse of the level of difficulty that college classes are going to be at. Pre- Collegiate is helping a lot with my future in college and my career path.
